NEET Exam Will Be Conducted Twice a Year; First test in December 2018

In another move by the Government of India, the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is probably going to take place twice a year and it will be a huge benefit to a great number of medical aspirants for neet 2019. This test is conducted for students who are seeking admission in the medical course and with this entrance test happening twice a year, surely a lot of people would get a chance to follow their dreams. As of now the entrance tests for the year 2018-19 was conducted and results were announced earlier this year, it is likely that the exam will be conducted again in December 2018. For the Academic year 2019, the National Testing Agency (NTA), shall be conducting the first test in the year December 2018.

Upendra Kushwaha, Minister of State for Human Resource Development (HRD) had announced in the LokSabhain the previous year that the NEET exams might be conducted twice a year. The reason is that it would give an adequate opportunity for the candidates so that they can bring out their best and can make their careers in the desired field. The NTA, is one-point agency of the central government accountable for conducting all entrance examinations, was approved in November 2017 by Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The NTA was expected to work as an autonomous and self-sustained premier testing organization whose accountability is to conduct the entrance examinations of various fields for admissions in higher educational institutions. As of now NEET is being conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) but now would be conducted by the NTA.

As of now the task of designing the questions paper lies with IIT Kanpur which is setting up the team which would have subject matter experts of various domains as a part. The first examination shall be conducted by the agency in December next year and would be conducted online so that it is easy and hassle-free for all.
